FREE EVENT. What does it mean to be a part of an artist collective that uses technology to connect people to exploration of new experiences and questioning how we use technology? Join us on Thursday, April 4th to find out! Smartphone Orchestra Artist Steye Hallema and Technical Manager Amy Rijke will share how they create innovative experiences bringing audiences together with their phones. We’ll get to experience a demonstration of their Music for Smartphones, a meditative piece designed to create a unique moment of connectivity.

When I Close My Eyes w/ Catering by DarSalam

Daringly experimental and profoundly immersive, the film centers around master oil painter Samir Khurshid. His deeply layered artworks, teeming with philosophical imagery and recreated memories, showcase stories of modern religion, mythology, political intricacies, and the nuanced emotions of daily life.

Brought to life by a dedicated and talented film crew in Portland, When I Close My Eyes will be available to view for the first time at Tomorrow Theater. A special event combining artist talks, music, traditional Iraqi food, a specially curated presentation of Samir’s art will center the evening.
