THE EXPERIENCE

Join us for the Tomorrow Theater debut of the Not That Late Show! Beyond a comedy variety show—the Not that Late Show is a satirical exploration of late-stage capitalism, women’s sexuality, and pop culture through a queer/femme lens. Each month Rachael and Lizzy break down local and international headlines with a Weekend Update-style monologue. Then they invite a comedic and musical guest to perform and be interviewed in an absurd fashion, with each segment being divided by ‘‘commercial breaks” of meta-world-building parodies and original, freaky brainchildren. These produced segments are shot on location in Portland and at Framework studio, creating an immersive experience that you’re at home watching TV, just in a slightly different dimension. It’s sketch, improv, stand up, and live music all in one night! Come into our world; get Nottie with us.

ON STAGE: Rachael Young & Lizzy Rees

Rachael Young (she/her) is an enigma, wrapped in a riddle, wrapped in sweatpants. Rachael was born in a town of less than 1,000 people about an hour north of Seattle, Washington. At 18 years old she moved to Oslo, Norway to study at the International Theater Academy of Norway, where she was taught Meisner, Stanislavsky, and Adler techniques, as well as clowning and Commedia Dell’arte, which were among her favorites. Upon graduating she moved to NYC and studied at UCB Theater, before heading back to the Pacific Northwest to start her comedy career. Since 2019 she has starred in a comedy TV pilot, THE ROOMS, which was produced and shot in Portland, Oregon, and started Not That Late Show, which can only be made as insanely and funny as possible with Lizzy Rees, Randall Lawrence, and Jason Lee’s talent and creativity. You can find her around Portland performing stand up, improv, and character work, and on TikTok doing Housewives impressions which have earned her some viral moments as well as write ups in Us Weekly and being spoken about to Vogue and MTVUK.

Lizzy Rees (she/her) is a beautiful, humble, comedian, actor, and educator hailing from Portland. She earned her acting degree from Texas State University, though she credits her time at Second City Chicago and her mother for her sharp wit and sense of humor. Lizzy has performed at a variety of venues around Portland alongside her comedy partner, Rachael Young, in their self-produced show, Not That Late Show. Lizzy is survived by Jason Lee and Randy Lawrence, the professional, creative and amazing filmmakers, editors, and directors of the show. You might have caught her on stage at Portland Center Stage, wearing a wig and mega suit on Hello Rose City, or at a local coffee shop ordering a real dairy latte.
