THE EXPERIENCE

Blast off into a galaxy of laughs with Mel Brooks’ sci-fi spoof Spaceballs. Starring John Candy, Rick Moranis, and Bill Pullman, this interstellar comedy parodies the epic adventures of space operas through Brooks’ signature slapstick comedy and absurd humor.

Round out your Candy-coated weekend with a screening of Uncle Buck and John Candy: A Life In Comedy Book Launch + Planes, Trains and Automobiles!

ON SCREEN: Spaceballs

1987. Directed by Mel Brooks. Runtime: 96 minutes. Rated PG

When the nefarious Dark Helmet  (Rick Moranis) hatches a plan to snatch Princess Vespa (Daphne Zuniga) and steal her planet’s air, space-bum-for-hire Lone Starr  (Bill Pullman) and his clueless sidekick (John Candy as “Barf”) fly to the rescue. Along the way, they meet Yogurt (Mel Brooks), who puts Lone Starr wise to the power of “The Schwartz.” Can he master it in time to save the day?
