This weekend of films was curated by Charlie Sextro, Sundance Senior Programmer & champion of the Sundance NEXT (innovative new films) and Midnight (horror) sections. On January 27-28, he’ll share some of his favorite films from the 2023 festival with Portland audiences.  

Smoke Sauna Sisterhood

In the darkness of smoke sauna, women share their innermost secrets and intimate experiences. Through a sense of communion, women wash off the shame trapped in their bodies and regain their strength.

Sound Practitioner Brooke Lyons will share a 30 minute sound bath prior to the screening. Starts at 6PM.

After experiencing burnout in Corporate America, Brooke set out on a healing journey that eventually led her to her first sound bath in 2019. From that moment on, sound healing became the cornerstone of her healing process.

In 2020, Brooke became a certified sound practitioner and has been working with sound vibration and frequency as way to help people heal their mind and body, restore their energy and vitality, and reconnect with their true authentic self.

Today Brooke is a practitioner, teacher, and trainer. She offers in-person sound baths, sound bowl trainings and has an online sound healing certification program for aspiring sound practitioners.

Brooke’s heartfelt work has helped hundreds of people discover profound peace, balance and harmony within.
