THE EXPERIENCE

Continue our celebration of Parker Posey with another GAME-O-RAMA, this time with Party Girl bingo hosted by our bingo starlet, Violet Hex!

ON SCREEN: Party Girl

1995. Directed by Daisy von Scherler Mayer. Runtime: 94 minutes. Rated R.
Mary (Parker Posey) is a hip 20-something and hostess extraordinaire, known for organizing the most trendy and outrageous parties on the New York club scene. When her roommate moves out, she stages an illegal rave to cover her rent, which lands her in jail. Desperate, she calls her godmother, Mrs. Lindendorf, who offers her a way out: a job as a library clerk.

ONSTAGE: Violet Hex

Violet Hex is a maximalist drag starlet, DJ, cult cinema programmer, and a staple of Portland’s queer nightlife scene. Violet is known best for her larger-than-life drag performances and dramatic fashions, as well as for her work in Portland presenting queer celebrations of cult cinema throughout the decades. Living at the intersection of punk and disco, Violet Hex has opened for/collaborated with legends such as John Waters, Lady Miss Kier, Jinkx Monsoon, Susanne Bartsch, and Peaches Christ.
