THE EXPERIENCE

Experience L’Inferno (1911) with an original live score by Lori Goldston & Corey J Brewer–a visionary landmark film that shaped the language of cinema from DeMille to Lynch. Acclaimed cellist and composer Goldston—who toured with Nirvana, appears on their MTV Unplugged album, and has collaborated with David Byrne, Cat Power, Terry Riley, Lynn Shelton, and many more—joins forces with musician and filmmaker Brewer, whose score for The Shining Forwards and Backwards helped launch the Tomorrow Theater in 2023. Together they reimagine Italy’s first feature film in a spellbinding performance not to be missed.

Italy’s first feature film, L’Inferno (1911) chronicles Dante’s travel through the Circles of Hell, guided by the poet Virgil. A triumph of special effects and camera trickery that still has the power to confront and delight audiences.

ON STAGE: Lori Goldston & Corey J Brewer

Lori Goldston

Classically trained and rigorously de-trained, possessor of a restless, semi-feral spirit, Lori Goldston is a cellist, composer, improvisor, producer, writer, and teacher from Seattle. Her voice as a cellist, amplified or acoustic, is full, textured, committed, and original. A relentless inquirer, her work drifts freely across borders that separate genre, discipline, time, and geography.
