THE EXPERIENCE

Director Ronak Shah presents an opportunity for feedback regarding her new feature film Fountain of Youth, a drama about a brilliant Korean American lesbian scientist leading a human clinical trial to find a cure for Alzheimer’s, only to discover that one of the patients is her estranged, homophobic mother, whom she has not seen or spoken to in ten years and who no longer remembers her. A Q&A session will follow the screening, giving viewers the opportunity to share their thoughts, insights, and constructive notes in an open and welcoming discussion. This is a unique chance to contribute directly to the creative process and help shape the strongest possible version of the film before it is finalized. Come join the conversation and be part of bringing the film to its fullest potential!

ON SCREEN: Fountain of Youth

2026. Directed by Ronak Shah. Runtime: 88 minutes.

A feature-length drama about a brilliant Korean American lesbian scientist leading a human clinical trial to find a cure for Alzheimer’s, only to discover that one of the patients is her estranged, homophobic mother, whom she has not seen or spoken to in ten years and who no longer remembers her.

ON STAGE: Ronak Shah

Until she was 14, Ronak moved between Mumbai and New Jersey. As a result, she considers herself as much an immigrant as an American. After discovering her love for storytelling, Ronak went on to earn an MFA in writing and directing from UCLA. Her first feature film, Love Goes Through Your Mind, had its world premiere at the Austin Film Festival. The film is currently available on CPICS.TV, a streaming platform that later commissioned a mini-series which Ronak co-wrote and directed. Through the making of these projects, Ronak realized her love for telling character-driven stories and bringing them to life. When not working on projects, she enjoys hiking and exploring new lands, painting, and pondering whether dogs have an internal monologue.
