FAQ
Wait, what? Are y’all a movie theater or what?
As a home for cultural snackers, we embrace cinematic storytelling in all its forms — and that means any media art, storytelling, or creatively undefinable cultural happening that feels cinematic — and these days, that’s certainly a longer list than just film.
BUT! Of course we’ll show movies. Old faves, new classics, animated gems, sneak-peeks, indies, experimental, blockbuster fun, musicals, international, non-fiction, you name it, we’re here for it.
And for so, so, so much more.
Most of our multimedia programs are one-night-only events, but on occasion we’ll embrace multiple nights, festival-style happenings, series, and more.
Okay, but what does that really mean?
Like our audiences and artists, our extended team likes lots of different things. At the Tomorrow, we like to bring it all together, mix it up, and see what happens when they collide.
The Tomorrow offers a full calendar of diverse and eclectic screenings, events and happenings 24 nights a month (but not 24 hours a day, that would be wild!).
Check out our coming soon and signature series.
Age Restrictions & General Policies:
Shows and events are all ages, unless otherwise noted by MPAA ratings guidelines, or Tomorrow Theater listings.
In an unbound space, we only have a few rules, but they’re important to note:
- We bow to ARETHA’s timeless advice: at the Tomorrow, everyone in the house treats others and is treated with R-E-S-P-E-C-T. We reserve the right to refuse service and/or ask guests to leave if this rule isn’t – respected.
- No outside food or drink allowed in the space.
How often do you change programming?
Each month has a theme by which the screenings and events are loosely based. Some are unique happenings and others are part of ongoing signature series.
Programming is co-created by an evolving mix of local and international artists, curators, innovators, cultural partners, community groups, and PAM CUT staff.
Explain your Pricing Structure please:
Okay, we will! Our ticket prices reflect that we’re committed to working with local and global artists — consistently and sustainably, darn near every day. Our mission is to create an ecosystem locally and globally where artists are paid fairly and equitably for their work. The more artists we work with to create a program, the more that’s sometimes that’s reflected in the ticket price – so all of us can ensure we take care of our community and continue to work together to truly support a vibrant media arts ecosystem.
What are your hours?
Tomorrow Theater: Thursday-Sunday, 5 p.m. –11 p.m.
For additional support, the Portland Art Museum is open Wednesday-Sunday, 10 a.m.5 p.m..
Well, how do I get there?
Bus, bike, wander by, or try your hand at the wonders of street parking! Admit it, parallel parking is just the best and you are absolutely aces at it.
We are located at 3530 Division Street, Portland, OR. on the corner of 35th Place and Division in SE Portland, just next to our friends at THE END Bar.
Haven’t explored Division lately? Did we mention it’s really fantastic, too? Come early, hang late, and support the myriad of awesome galleries, eateries, shops, and small businesses that we’re proud to call our neighbors.
Division’s got everything from singing lessons to wine galore to pie and jojos and perfume and pottery, the best damn gluten free bagels and cocktails this side of New York, and certainly the best gelato west of Italy!
This is a lot. How can I simply find out what’s happening and what you’re showing when?
Check out all our events and happenings right HERE!.
We do our best to update our schedule at least a few weeks in advance, but to stay up to date on all the news, sign up for our Portland Art Museum & PAM CUT newsletter HERE, and follow us on the ‘gram HERE.
Q: How do I purchase tickets?
A: Tickets can be purchased online through our website or in person (upcoming screenings and events listed HERE). We encourage everyone to purchase in advance so you have your choice of seat; please check the website in advance of arriving, as many screenings and experiences will sell out prior to day-of purchase.
When you do, you’ll purchase assigned seats so just head on over and find your spot in the theater upon arrival. We’re glad you’re here!
Q: Do you Participate in the ARTS FOR ALL Program?
A: Yes we do! Oregon Trail cardholders can purchase up to 2 Museum admissions for $5 each. They can also purchase up to 2 tickets to any $15 program at the Tomorrow Theater for $5 (walk up only).
Q: Do REAP Card Holders Receive a Discount?
A: Yes they do! REAP Card Holders receive two free tickets, with staff badge (walk up only).
Q: Are movie tickets refundable?
A: All ticket purchases are final. If an event is rescheduled, tickets will automatically transfer to the new date, with the option to request a refund for 30 days after cancellation if you’re unable to attend the new showtime.
Ack! I can’t access my ticket or have a technical problem? What do I do?
