THE EXPERIENCE
Our SUMMER OF ’99 series continues with an M. Night Shyamalan hit from that year, psychological thriller The Sixth Sense. Join us for movie trivia before the film!
SUMMER OF ’99 SERIES: Welcome to the SUMMER OF ’99, before smartphones, social media, and streaming. Pre-doom scroll, bed rot, and AI ubiquity. 1999 wasn’t just another year—it was THE year. The one that redefined cinema. It was a launching pad for today’s biggest filmmakers, a breakout year for indie film, and a cultural turning point that echoes today.
ON SCREEN: The Sixth Sense
1999. Directed by M. Night Shyamalan. Runtime: 1 hour 47 minutes. Rated PG-13.
Following an unexpected tragedy, child psychologist Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis) meets a nine year old boy named Cole Sear, who is hiding a dark secret.
ON STAGE: Shannon Donaldson w/ ShanRock’s Triviology
Shannon Donaldson feels very lucky to have made a career out of writing and hosting pub quizzery. After writing questions in pajamas all day, she goes out into the night to have fun playing the game with her teams! She founded ShanRock’s Triviology in Portland, Oregon in 2005, and looks forward to making the trivia for several more decades.
