THE EXPERIENCE:
Based on Charles Busch’s play by the same name, you can’t have more fun if you tried with this wild parody of 1950s’ psychodramas, 1960s’ beach movies, and 1980s’ slasher films all wrapped up into one. DJ Lex Lurker will play a set starting at 6:30PM before the film.
And 2/24 is INTERNATIONAL MARGARITA NIGHT!!! Join us for a cocktail, mocktail, or some super rad treats to escape the rain and jump on into this cult classic par excellence.
ON SCREEN: Psycho Beach Party
2000. Directed by Robert Lee King. Runtime: 95 minutes.
Chicklet is a sixteen-year old tomboy who’s desperate to be part of the in-crowd of Malibu beach surfers. She’s the typical American girl – except for one little problem: her personality is split into more slices than a pepperoni pizza.
ON STAGE: DJ Lex Lurker (Jacob Markrof)
Jacob received his BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where he studied traditional animation and creative writing. He is an accomplished oil painter, and he uses that medium to continue the art of storytelling when not writing sci-fi novels. He currently lives in Portland, Oregon.
