2023. Directed by Tran Anh Hung. Runtime: 2hr 16min. Rated PG-13.
Set in 1889 France, Dodin Bouffant is a chef living with his personal cook and lover Eugénie. They share a long history of gastronomy and love but Eugénie refuses to marry Dodin, so the food lover decides to do something he has never done before: cook for her.
The film’s director is Tran Anh Hung wanted the food in the film to be realistic and authentic, and he worked with several chefs to achieve this — including three-star Chef Pierre Gagnaire, who consulted the menu and depictions of cooking.

My name is Nori. As an avid advocate for Portland’s independent restaurants, my favorite connections are with food people. In addition to food blogging, I’ve collaborated and consulted some of Portland’s most acclaimed chefs and restaurateurs. My latest project is called “Tikim”, which means “to taste” in Tagalog, and I am one of three founders. Our mission is to further the Filipino-American narrative by sharing the stories of our collective cultural experiences and fostering personal connections through Filipino food.
