2026. Directed by Rafael Manuel. Runtime: 1 hour 41 minutes.

While working at an elite country club outside Manila, a 17-year-old Ilocana worker uncovers the violent truths of her workplace, her country, and her own past after attempting to return a lost golf club to the club’s president.

“A masterwork. Rafael Manuel opens new vistas in the future of cinema.” – The New Yorker

“An incisive, slow-burning satire of capitalism and powerful men with far too much hubris  – basically, a story for our times.” – NPR

“An invigorating dose of arch formalism in a sea of mainstream sincerity, this is the kind of movie that asks for the viewer’s attention. The angle of a golf club can evoke suspense, a piece of fruit on the ground can feel like a tragedy, and a casual glance can take your breath away.” – Vulture

ALT AWARDS

Welcome to the ALT AWARDS, Tomorrow Theater’s annual celebration of the films that mattered most in 2026–to us. These aren’t the categories you’ll find at any respectable awards ceremony. No Best Picture. No Best Director. No orchestral playoff music.

Instead, the ALT AWARDS honor the achievements that actually define a movie year: the sleaze, the chaos, the emotional devastation, the questionable wig work, and the feelings you can’t quite name but absolutely understand.

Awards and the full ALT AWARDS line up will be announced soon!
