THE EXPERIENCE

Join Roseline Coffee for a coffee lover’s dream Sunday at the Tomorrow Theater. Arrive early for a pre-show social featuring creative coffee-based cocktails and mocktails, mingle with the Roseline team, and dive into coffee culture with a brief panel and Q&A exploring the lives of coffee pickers. The conversation continues with a short documentary on the same topic, followed by a screening of Coffee and Cigarettes—Jim Jarmusch’s cult classic made up of eleven vignettes where a star-studded cast connects over caffeine and conversation. Roseline will be on hand throughout the event, sharing unique coffee offerings.

This special gathering is part of the Portland Art Museum’s Everybody is an Art Person campaign in support of the Connection Campaign—fueling the reimagining of the Museum’s campus and creating more accessible, welcoming spaces for all.

ON SCREEN: Coffee and Cigarettes

2004. Directed by Jim Jarmusch. Runtime: 1hr 36min. Rated R.

This 11-vignette film focuses on the human interactions that happen while partaking in the everyday indulgence of coffee and cigarettes. Featuring well-known actors and other artists as themselves or some version thereof, the film highlights the nuances and subtle hostilities that can be a part of seemingly normal conversations. Bill Murray waits on the Wu-Tang Clan, Iggy Pop and Tom Waits get on each others’ nerves and Jack and Meg White of the White Stripes discuss Nikola Tesla.

CO-HOSTED BY: Roseline Coffee
