THE EXPERIENCE

Portland premiere of local director Rollyn Stafford’s new feature film Backseat Driver. Prior to the feature we will screen a short film by local filmmaker Sean Parker, who will also be leading the post-film discussion with Rollyn and key cast and crew.

ON SCREEN:

Backseat Driver

2025. Directed by Rollyn Stafford. Runtime: 1 hour 20 minutes.

A comedy about Jack and his imaginary friend, Ralph. Shortly after his father dies, Jack discovers he has a half sister, Lindsey, who also has an imaginary friend, Megan. The siblings meet and get along fine, but the imaginary friends do not. Filmed in Portland and Klamath Falls, Oregon.

I Need His Blood for My Poisons: A real internet argument.

2025. Directed by Sean Parker. Runtime: 11 minutes 44 seconds.

A harmless social media post spurs two strangers into an unhinged clash that forever alters their lives, sparking an oddly beautiful connection. The entire incident is dramatized in finger puppet theater, for maximum intensity and emotion.

Meagan Karimi-Naser
Meagan Karimi-Naser is a Seattle-based actor with a BA in Drama from the University of Washington. While she is a regular presence in film, commercials, and everything in between, she’s perhaps best known for finding her way into any project Brian Sutherland has worked on over the last 15 years. Best known for a recent slew of ads for phone games, she would rather people knew her from her work as a charming psychopath in previous Rollyn Stafford original One Dead Dog, her bilingual role in Nathan Vass’s Men I Trust, or as theater employee/Macbethian witch in the delightfully quirky The Scottish Play. She was most recently seen in Portland in a staged concert of the new musical Rella, which you should really check out if you haven’t heard about it yet.

Brian Sutherland
Brian Sutherland is a powerhouse performer—an actor, improviser, producer, and sought-after acting coach whose work spans stage and screen. You’ve seen him in hit series like Hacks (HBO), Rescue Hi-Surf (FOX), Big Sky (CBS) alongside Jensen Ackles, and Walker: Independence with Katherine McNamara. He also starred in last year’s critically acclaimed film Pig opposite Nicolas Cage and can be seen next year in James Gunn’s Lanterns on HBO.
Brian’s signature physical theatre and clown workshops have captivated students across the U.S. and internationally—from Australia and Dubai to London and Switzerland. His diverse body of work includes appearances on HBO, NBC, SyFy, Netflix, and Apple TV, along with over 125 commercials nationwide. Whether he’s performing or teaching or raising his kids, Brian brings energy, creativity, and a bold presence to everything he does.
