Don your best caftan, perm that hair, and channel your inner diva from Three’s Company, the one and only Helen Roper! Hosted by Portland’s finest Donatella Nobody, join us for the Tomorrow Theater’s first Mrs. Roper Night-inspired event, featuring a screening of Valley of the Dolls, the best thriller-musical of 1967 based on the bestselling book by Jacqueline Susann (no relation to Suzanne Somers!)

Valley of the Dolls
1967. Directed by Mark Robson. 123 minutes.

In New York City, bright but naive New Englander Anne Welles becomes a secretary at a theatrical law firm, where she falls in love with attorney Lyon Burke. Anne befriends up-and-coming singer Neely O’Hara, whose dynamic talent threatens aging star Helen Lawson and beautiful but talentless actress Jennifer North. The women experience success and failure in love and work, leading to heartbreak, addiction and tragedy.

Donatella Nobody
Donatella Nobody (the drag alter ego of local theatre designer and educator, Tyler Buswell) is a fabulous camp queen who’s drag shows often explore the intersection of queer culture, gender roles and theatrical storytelling. With a background as an actor and visual artist, Donatella presents polished and rehearsed performances that are also lighthearted and don’t take themselves too seriously!
