ON STAGE: Hannah May Cumming

Hannah May Cummingis a writer, director, and producer originally hailing from Liverpool, UK. She is most known for her short horror filmsBaby Fever(2022) andFanatico(2019) both of which are platformed onWatchAlter.com, amassing hundreds of thousands of views. She is the creator ofMonstrous Femme Films, a queer-feminist indie horror production company based in Portland, OR. Her work has screened at several prestigious festivals such as Dances with Films, Screamfest LA, Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, FilmQuest, and more, and has won several awards such as Best Director, Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Production Design, and multiple Audience Choice Awards.

Hannah’s work is an amalgamation of queer and feminist horror, camp, and her love of retro design and fashion. She has a knack for creating highly stylized worlds and fascinating, complex female characters. As seen clearly in her films, Hannah is unafraid to take provocative, creative risks within the horror genre, especially when that work is taking a strong socio-political stance.

Hannah is currently in pre-production on her next horror short film, SEA LEGS, a revenge body horror set on the Oregon Coast, that follows an amateur taxidermist who uses her skills to craft a real life merman.
