Piaffe
2022. Written and directed by Ann Oren. Runtime: 86 minutes.
There’s nothing else like Piaffe on the silver screen — or any screen! Come discover this wholly original tale of the introverted Eva, who is forced to take on Zara’s job as a Foley artist when her sister suffers a nervous breakdown. She struggles to create sounds for a commercial featuring a horse when a horsetail starts growing out of her body. Empowered by her tail, she lures a botanist into an affair with a game of submission. Curator Caryn Coleman in Attendance.
Cousins
2023. Written and directed by Karina Dandashi. With Dandashi, Zayn Alexander, Ribal Rayess, Monica Sanborn. Runtime: 13 minutes.
A short film by Karina Dandashi. Two cousins born in separate countries reunite in Brooklyn when a run-in with an ex turns the night into a mission of revenge. Cousins explores cultural disconnect between family members and identity within oneself. What does it mean to belong somewhere, and how do we find our way back?
