THE EXPERIENCE

Join Ned and Wendy the Band on a mystical, magical, (and even murderous) trip full of unexpected characters, outrageous situations, and a cat with more power than you might expect. This quirky and fun Portland premiere will kick off with a performance by Ned and Wendy followed by a moderated Q&A with the directors after the film.

ON SCREEN: Dances of Significance

2026. Directed by Jordan Plotner, Lindsey Plotner (A.K.A. Ned and Wendy the Band) Runtime: 75 minutes.

Be careful what you wish for… in front of your cat. When a disheartened folk duo from Portland wish they could live in another world, they find themselves launched on a musical adventure. Join Ned and Wendy the Band on a mystical, magical, (and even murderous) trip full of unexpected characters, outrageous situations, and a cat with more power than you might expect.

ON STAGE:

Ned and Wendy the Band (Performers and Panelists) – Ned and Wendy the Band is a Portland, Oregon based Glam-Folk duo formed by married musicians Jordan & Lindsey Plotner. Beyond regular live performances throughout Portland and beyond, the duo is also known for their multimedia endeavors, blending cinematic film, colorful abstract art, and original music to create a world of their own – a world which all are invited to visit!

“In their glam-folk wonderland, empathy is celebrated, laughter is plentiful, and connection ignites into dance-it-out harmony. Whoever you are, wherever you’ve come from, Ned & Wendy the Band is here to remind you there’s always a place you belong.” — Easyfolk Media

The band has released two studio albums, one live album, and have a fourth album on the way! Their upcoming release Dances of Significance will not only be their most ambitious, creative, and absurd album yet – it will also be the soundtrack to their first-ever feature film, a musical movie of the same title that features a cast of 45 Portland artists, dancers, musicians, clowns, and more! Dances of Significance (the movie) is set to premiere in August 2026, and the album will be released in fall 2026. Their 2021 musical documentary short film Welcome Home Ned and Wendy  premiered at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. as one of eight finalists in the Emerging Young Voices in Film Festival, and it went on to win Best Romance Film in the 2021 Los Angeles Film Awards, as well as official selection in Dumbo Film Festival, Toronto Documentary Feature & Short Film Festival, and Cambria Film Festival of Romance, Love, and Rom-coms. The two artists are thrilled to have been part of Easyfolk Media’s 2025 Featured Artist cohort as well as Sofar Sound’s international roster of artists.vWith a love of community and connection, and a proclivity for songs that make you want to dance while crying, Ned and Wendy the Band are on a mission to create joy, wonder, and kick ass music.
