Run Time: 64 min. Language: Italian

A Sundance 2023 sensation tells the story of a Burkinabé boy who flees his village and migrates to Italy where he finds success in the world of fashion. When later disillusioned by heartbreak, and haunted by memories of home, he travels through time in hope of regaining all he has lost.

Filmmaker Walé Oyéjidé is the founder of Ikiré Jones and After Migration where he employs fashion design as a vehicle to celebrate the perspectives of marginalized populations.

This 2023 release screens in tandem with the Portland Art Museum‘s exhibit Africa Fashion, and is part of the Carte Blanche: Ruth E. Carter weekend.

Signed copies of Ruth E. Carter’s latest book, The Art of Ruth Carter: Costuming Black History and the Afrofuture, from Do the Right Thing to Black Panther, will also be available for sale.
